Multiple Totems Support
Multiple Totems Support is a Support gem that causes the supported totem skill to summon an additional totem on cast and increases the maximum amount of totems for that skill, but lessens the damage dealt with each totem.
Skill functions and interactions
Multiple Totems Support can support inherent totem skills such as Holy Flame Totem, skills supported by Ballista Totem Support or Spell Totem Support, and minions who can summon totems (e.g. Raise Spectre).
While it can support totem skills with cooldowns, namely Decoy Totem, it cannot bypass cooldowns, so only one totem will be summoned at a time. Second Wind Support grants an additional use of Decoy Totem, so in conjunction with Multiple Totems Support it allows summoning two Decoy Totems at once.
Damage Scaling
The total possible damage provided by multiple totems support with all totems placed is dependent on how many total totems the character has.
The formula for calculating a level 21 multiple totems support gem is (base totems without the gem + 2) x (.8) / (base totems without the gem). Some examples include:
1 Totem = (1+2) = 3 x (.8) = 2.4 / (1) = 2.4 times the damage or 140% more damage.
2 Totems = (2+2) = 4 x (.8) = 3.2 / (2) = 1.6 times the damage or 60% more damage.
Attack and Cast Speed Scaling
Certain skills, like Wither are unaffected by the downside of less damage, while benefiting from more totems casting. The formula calculates how fast the withered debuff is applied when all totems are placed.
The formula for calculating any level of multiple totems support gem is (base totems without the gem + 2) / (base totems without the gem). Some examples include:
1 Totem = (1+2) = 3 / (1) = 3 times the casts per second or 200% more casts per second.
2 Totems = (2+2) = 4 / (2) = 2 times the casts per second or 100% more casts per second.
