# Melee skill **Melee skill** use melee weapons (axes, swords, maces, etc.) to perform attacks. The damage of these attacks is based on the weapons equipped. When using melee skills such as [[Infernal Blow]] without a weapon equipped, damage is based on the character's base [[unarmed]] damage. These skills have the Melee [[Gem tag]]. All melee skills so far are [[Attack]] skills. [[Strike]] and [[Slam]] are two of the subsets of Melee skills.
