# Oil Oils are currency items that can drop from Blight encounters. Using them on certain items gives these items an anointment, which can modify them in various ways. ## Mechanics Oils can be applied by the player via Cassia, to Blighted maps, rings, amulets or blight unique items in order to add new modifiers or the effect of a passive skill: | Type | Oils | Effect | | - | - | - | | Blighted map | 1x | Increased monster pack size and effect depending on the oil | | Rings | 2x | Buffs to Towers | | Amulets<br> Blight unique items | 3x | Allocate a notable passive skill from the passive skill tree without spending a skill point or being connected to the rest of the allocated skill tree. | - Blighted maps can have up to three anointments at a time. Multiple copies of the same oil are additive. Example - 3 clear oils with 10% reduced monster movement speed give a total of 30%. - Anointments on equipment take up the enchantment slot. - Allocated passive nodes on the Amulet behave as if the node were taken manually. In other words, socketing a Timeless Jewel and anointing a passive node will grant the new, transformed modifiers. It will not grant the old, original modifiers. - Vendor - Three units of oil can be vendored to create one vial of oil of the next tier, much like essences. For example, one [[Golden Oil]] will require 3^12=531441 [[Clear Oil]]s. As such, it should only be used when one has a vast excess of one type of oil or needs a small amount of another type. - Annointment order - There are 13 oils, combinations allow the use of the same oil more than once, and the order does not matter. Thus, there are 455 possible combinations[1] of both notable passives on the tree and Blight-only notables (non-cluster jewel notables). Some combinations do not yet have an associated notable. - Tainted Oil - [[Tainted Oil]] is not used for any anoint combinations, but can be used as a fourth oil to anoint corrupted items. ## List of Blight uniques These specific uniques can also be anointed. They gain the same passive skills that those oils would apply to an amulet. - [[Breathstealer]] - [[Cowl of the Cryophile]] - [[Cowl of the Thermophile]] - [[Cowl of the Ceraunophile]] - [[Sporeguard]] - [[The Stampede]]
