Voidstone
Voidstones are items that enhance the Atlas of Worlds, and are the successors to the previous watchstone system. Each voidstone applies an effect to all maps on the Atlas quadrant socketed to it. They also causes tier 16 maps to have a chance to drop as Nightmare Maps instead.
Mechanics
Socketing a voidstone into the Atlas will add the following effects to all maps in the quadrant it's socketed to:
- An additional effect based on the specific Voidstone
- Tier 1-15 maps dropped in areas are a tier higher
- Tier 1-15 maps dropped in areas are converted to Gold
- Tier 16 maps in Areas have a 0.4% chance to become a Nightmare Map for each Socketed Voidstone
When a Voidstone is socketed to a quadrant, it will add a side map to the Atlas menu, which are used to access pinnacle areas and bosses.
Each voidstone adds a cumulative change to convert tier 16 maps into Nightmare maps. This chance is cumulative with each voidstone, resulting in a 6.4% chance with four voidstones. (With each voidstone granting 0.4% for each voidstone, this results in 1.6% per voidstone times four voidstones = 6.4%. Three voidstones grant 3.6% total, and two grant 1.6% total.)
