There are 6 glowing curved lines on the bottom of the map device, 3 on either side, these will stop glowing as you use up portals, the remaining glowing curved lines are how many portals you have left.

EDIT:
There's also flames on either side of the map device at the top which will be go out as you consume portals.

When teleporting to Saints End Hideout, shaders are recompiled every time
