  • Crucible's endgame takes place in The Forge of the Titans, a dangerous area harbouring an ancient power: the ability to melt a weapon down, merging its Crucible Passive Tree with that of another weapon. This process produces unpredictable results, incorporating elements of each tree as well as random upgrades, downgrades and changes. Through careful use of the Forge, it's possible to craft some incredibly powerful skill trees on your weapons.
  • We also wanted to grant more access to certain types of masteries in specific parts of the passive skill tree. For example, in order to allow more access to the Attack Mastery, we've added an attack cluster by the Templar, and one between the Ranger and Shadow.
  • A new Multishot cluster has been added to the northeast of the Ranger's starting location. Multishot grants "Attacks fire an additional Projectile".
    • A new Relentless Pursuit cluster has been added to the southeast of the Ranger's starting location. Relentless Pursuit grants 10% increased Attack Speed if you've cast a Mark Spell Recently, and 10% increased Movement Speed if you've cast a Mark Spell Recently.
  • A new Expert Hunter cluster has been added to the southeast of the Ranger's starting location. Expert Hunter grants 20% increased Effect of your Marks.

  • The mods you apply will accumulate as you play through the area. When you empower your second monster, it also has the mod you applied to the first monster. This results in a fight that has twice as many dangerous mods, and twice as many rewards. By the time you have empowered and slain four petrified monsters in an area, you will have received the first reward four times.
  • More than half of the available mods are created by combining other mods together on the same monster. These recipe mods yield substantially more dangerous encounters and have more valuable rewards.
  • Monsters touched by Tormented Martyrs explode on death. The danger posed by this explosion is hard to predict due to being dependent on the monster's main hand attack damage, which varies widely between monster types.
  • Ranger Bow: Now has 56-117 Physical Damage (previously 39-81).

  • In the Scourge Challenge League, you'll meet a mysterious figure who hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body. As you slay enemies, the Crucible fills with their blood. Once it reaches a certain threshold, you're able to activate the device. This will instantly thrust you into a parallel reality, an alternate Wraeclast where some form of apocalyptic event is occurring. This Wraeclast is overrun by demons known as The Scourge. They're powerful, dangerous and come in many forms. The more blood you have collected, the longer you can stay shifted into the parallel Wraeclast. But the longer you stay, the more damage you'll take.
  • As a result of these changes, the Forsaken Masters Achievement is now completed after defeating each Master's most dangerous foe: The Vaal Omnitect for Alva, Aul, the Crystal King for Niko, Farrul, First of the Plains for Einhar, The Syndicate Mastermind for Jun, and The Shaper and Elder for Zana.
  • Rangers don't have a form of Life Recovery that they excel at, while almost every other core character has a signature special Recovery method.

    Add new and improve existing passive skills specialising in the recovery of charges for life and mana Flasks as well as life recovery from Flasks in the Ranger section of the Passive Skill Tree.

    • Added Life Regeneration if you’ve used a Life Flask in the past 10 seconds and Mana Gained on Hit with Attacks if you’ve used a Mana Flask in the past 10 seconds to the Ranger starting area.
  • Added new Passive Skills in the Ranger section of the Passive Skill Tree that increase generation of Life and Mana Flasks, including gaining a Life Flask Charge on Hitting Enemies, with a short cooldown. Added new sources of life and mana flasks gaining charges every 3 seconds and Life Flasks gaining Charges when you Suppress Spell Damage.
  • Moved the Elemental Equilibrium Keystone Passive to the Ranger section of the Passive Skill Tree, where there is much less existing access to Exposure for Elemental builds and access to Skills that rotate Elements, such as Wild Strike.
  • The Ranger's class start is very front-loaded with life and other beneficial stats, and has more costly pathing when leaving the passive tree than many other class starts.

    Remove most of the maximum life from the Ranger's starting Evasion passives. Redistribute this between other passives in the Ranger start area, so that the total amount of increased maximum life is slightly higher than before. Rework some sections of the Ranger class start, including new notables and effects.

    Change class starting nodes so most provide at least one flat modifier. For example, the Ranger now gets accuracy rating and projectile damage on one starting passive, and flat life and evasion rating on the other.

    • Poisonous Concoction is now offered to the Ranger for completing The Siren’s Cadence, and can be purchased from Nessa by the Duelist, Shadow and Scion.
  • Temporal Rift is now offered to the Shadow for completing Breaking the Seal, and can be purchased from Petarus and Vanja by the Ranger, Witch and Scion.
  • Tornado is now offered to the Ranger and Shadow for completing Breaking the Seal, and can be purchased from Petarus and Vanja by the Scion.

  • During your Expeditions, you must be careful to manage your levels of risk and return. Signs located at the Expedition sites clearly mark out the most dangerous areas to excavate. Special monsters and remnants of past Kalguuran settlements are clearly marked and detonating them can make your Expeditions much more challenging.
    • We have rebalanced various monsters found throughout Act One to make them more dangerous. Note, the balance changes made to Act One Bosses and monsters also apply to their Endgame Map versions.

Fully grown seed crops unearth dangerous monsters when harvested.

Inside the Delirium, deadly new monsters appear and existing foes become more dangerous. Pushing deeper into the Delirium will intensify its danger and grant even more rewards.
  • You may also acquire Delirium Orbs from high-level Delirium encounters. Delirium Orbs can be applied to maps, shrouding the whole map area in dangerous Delirium. You'll also find Delirium Splinters which can be combined to gain access to the Simulacrum. It is in the Simulacrum that you'll find Delirium's hardest and most rewarding fights.

          • With 3.1.0, there are Standard and Hardcore variations of the Abyss challenge league available, as well as solo self-found variants of both. They have the same core mechanics and items. In the Abyss League, players will encounter cracks in the ground. Get too close, and these cracks widen and spread, allowing the terrible monsters to climb from their inky depths. Pursue these cracks, and you may discover a massive chasm from which dangerous packs of monsters emerge. Once you defeat these monsters, the Abyss continues to propagate, creating more chasms. Take too long, and the Abyss will seal shut, but if you're quick and deadly enough, a chest filled with valuable rewards will emerge from below.
