Stormbind

Stormbind is a channelling spell that places runes on the targeted ground as the skill is channelled. These runes hinder enemies standing on it. The gem grants a sub-skill, Rune Blast, which improves runes placed by Stormbind as it is channelled, and releasing the channel detonates the rune and surrounding runes to deal lightning damage.

Skill functions and interactions

Stormbind

  • Area of effect - Multiple runes can hit a single target. A fully improved rune has a base explosion radius of 36.

  • Using multiple copies of the same stormbind gem will work, because runeblast and stormbind interact with each other even when used from different gems. 1 gem can have support gems that benefit stormbind. The other gem can have support gems that benefit runeblast.

Rune Blast

  • Runes will always have the same area of effect, but the Rune Blast explosion size will increase by improving the runes and increasing area of effect.

  • Raising the mana cost increases the number of connected runes improved per cast. Each rune can only be improved once per cast.

  • There is a maximum of 9 runes improved per cast, because each rune is only connected to 8 runes.

  • Indigon and Voidbringer raise the mana cost.

  • Rune Blast does not have the same gem tags as Stormbind. It is a generic channelling skill. It can be supported by Cast while Channelling Support, Faster Casting Support, Infused Channelling Support, and Arcane Surge Support.

In this example Rune Blast gives 2 times the damage per cast of Stormbind.
