Herald of Agony
Herald of Agony is a herald skill gem. When activated it reserves mana and grants a buff that gives a chance to inflict poison on enemies. Whenever the user poisons an enemy, it grants Virulence and summons an Agony Crawler minion, which becomes stronger with more stacks of Virulence.
Skill functions and interactions
Virulence buff cannot go above 40 stacks.
Agony Crawler Minion has an implicit 40% Physical to Chaos damage conversion.
Minion damage can be increased through many methods, such as:
- Gem level boosts, such as The Coming Calamity, Cold Iron Point, and Empower Support.
- The Ring Circle of Nostalgia has modifiers that directly buff the skill
- Auras like Hatred supported by Generosity.
- Frenzy Charges also apply to minions at a significant bonus. These can be granted to minions through the Victario's Charity shield, Poacher's Mark, or an item providing it Gluttony.
- Support gems such as: Minion Damage, Point Blank, and Vile Toxins also offer a considerable boost to minion damage. The Crawler is also immune to any form of damage and cannot die, making Damage on Full Life a great option.
- Temporary effects such as Flesh Offering, Spirit Offering, Vaal Haste, and Vaal Lightning Trap can also be taken advantage of.
- Debuffs such as Intimidate from Belt of the Deceiver also increase minion damage.
- Curses like Sniper's Mark also work.
For faster clear speed consider supports such as Pierce, Greater Multiple Projectiles, Faster Attacks, and Minion Speed. There is also an Uber Labyrinth enchantment that grants 2 additional projectiles to your Minion Crawler: Summoned Agony Crawler fires 2 additional Projectiles
Consider using Convocation to quickly teleport the Crawler to your location. This is useful when dealing with Proximity Shield mobs.
