Mechanics

Status ailments (such as shock) require an initial hit to determine whether they apply to the enemy. Therefore, the first hit on an ailment-free enemy will apply the shock, and only subsequent hits will leech life.

Applying shocking ground on the enemy can be used to skip the requirement of the first hit.

Version history

Version	Changes
3.14.0	Many unique items that were league-specific have now also been added to the core drop pool.
3.8.0	No longer grants 1% of damage leeched as Mana against frozen enemies. Instead grants Energy Shield leech against frozen enemies. This does not affect existing versions of the item.
2.6.0	The following changes can be obtained by rerolling the item's mods with a Divine Orb: * Increased Cold Damage mod increased to 25-30% (up from 10-15%). * Added Lightning Damage mod increased to 1 to (50-70) (up from 1 to 1-50) to attacks and spells. The following changes apply to existing items except for the pre-2.0.0 legacy variant: * Now has Damage Leeched as Life against Shocked enemies instead of Frozen enemies. * Now has Damage Leeched as Mana against Frozen enemies instead of Shocked enemies.
