Fire a projectile from your wand that changes direction in a zig-zag pattern at regular intervals or when hitting enemies. Each time it changes direction, a secondary projectile breaks off, flying in the direction it changed away from.
Increases and Reductions to Spell Damage also apply to Attack Damage from this Skill at 200% of their value

Barrage SupportFire a flurry of Kinetic Bolts in quick succession, damaging enemies consistently over a wide area. You cannot stop or move while firing. This gem improves damage but be careful not to get stuck taking damage while monsters attack you.
Added Lightning Damage SupportAdd lightning damage to Kinetic Bolt and its projectiles. A simple but valuable way to quickly kill enemies.
Added Cold Damage SupportAdd cold damage to Kinetic Bolt and its projectiles. A simple but valuable way to quickly kill enemies.
Elemental Damage with Attacks SupportIncrease the elemental damage dealt by Kinetic Bolt and its projectiles. Kinetic Bolt doesn't inherently deal elemental damage. Added elemental damage can come from equipment (or from Added Lightning and Added Cold support gems). This gem can increase that damage to more quickly kill enemies.
Inspiration SupportReduce the mana cost of using Kinetic Bolt. Also increase Kinetic Bolt's elemental damage and chance to critically strike with each attack. Wands can have powerful critical strikes. Critical strikes can deal more damage and inflict elemental ailments on enemies. Kinetic Bolt doesn't inherently deal elemental damage. Added elemental damage can come from equipment (or from Added Lightning and Added Cold support gems).

Kinetic Bolt

ZigZagWandSkillKinetic Bolt is a wand attack skill that fires a bolt that forks in a zig-zag pattern at it travels, releasing secondary projectiles as it forks. The user (of this skill)'s additive (not multiplicative) spell damage modifiers affect this skill's damage.

Skill functions and interactions

Only increases and reductions to spell damage are applied to attack damage. More and less modifiers do not apply to attack damage.
