FireMortarRolling Magma (previously known as Magma Orb) is a spell skill that launches a projectile that bounces on a parabolic curve that explodes on impact dealing fire damage in an area of effect. Effects that modify the number of times projectiles can chain changes the number of times Rolling Magma's projectile bounces instead.

Skill functions and interactions

  • FireMortarRolling Magma's projectile is launched through the air from the caster's location and lands where the caster is currently targeting (up to a maximum range). This causes an explosion dealing fire damage and then bounces in the same direction that it was initially launched. The impact has a base radius of 14, and a base spacing between impacts of 16 .

  • LesserMultipleProjectilesLesser Multiple Projectiles Support and GreaterMultipleProjectilesGreater Multiple Projectiles Support increase the number of projectiles, and thus the area of effect. However, the explosions from Rolling Magma's splashdown do not overlap, meaning that each time the orbs strike down at the same time, damage is dealt only once to any given enemy. Spread of the projectiles can be controlled by targeting closer to or further way from the caster.

  • chainChain Support increases the number of times a new projectile is created upon contact with the ground. The support gem adds +2 Chains, which results in an additional two projectiles. These projectiles do not readjust to aim toward enemies as other projectile skills with chain do. It is possible for projectiles created by separate chains to damage the same enemy, if positioned properly.

  • ConcentratedAOEConcentrated Effect Support, IncreasedAOEIncreased Area of Effect Support, and other modifiers to area size affect the radius of the explosion caused by the splashdown, but do not affect the maximum cast distance or the distance of each chain.

  • FasterProjectilesFaster Projectiles Support, SlowerProjectilesSlower Projectiles Support, and other modifiers to projectile speed affect both the maximum cast distance, the distance of each chain and the delay between each chain. Increasing projectile speed means the orb travels further both on initial cast and subsequent chains while also reducing the delay between chains. Reducing speed reduces travel distances and increases the time each orb is airborne.

  • ForkFork Support and PiercePierce Support have no effect as the orb does not interact with enemies itself, and only ever contacts the ground or walls.

  • Can be used in left mouse button slot to cast and move.
