    Shields

    Shields are an item class of armour equipment. They can contain up to 3 sockets and need to be equipped in the off-hand slot. All shields provide a chance to block attacks, and some also grant implicit modifiers. Like Body Armours, shields have an inherent 3% movement speed penalty.

    Mechanics

    • When used for attacks such as with Spectral Shield Throw, attack bonuses that only apply to the off hand will affect it, but not main hand bonuses.
    • Characters can use up to 2 different shields on a weapon swap.
    • Characters can change shields with a keybind. Types of shields

    There are 6 sub-types of shields:

    • 3 pure sub-types which have a single attribute requirement and provide an associated defense type.
    • 3 hybrid sub-types which have two attribute requirements and provide both of the associated defense types, although at a lower value than the pure counterpart.
