    Shield Skills deal too much damage for how little investment is required and have had their damage unintentionally increased by the buffs to base armour defences in this expansion. Shield Charge also generates Fortification too easily without investment.

    Lower the flat added damage bonus on Shield based skills, and rebalance the added damage to slightly lower the damage of the skill in general. Shield Charge in particular has much lower base damage, but now gets more added damage based on the defences of your shield. Overall this is only a slight damage loss for players using a high defences shield.

    • Shield Charge now has a base Attack Time of 0.5 seconds at all gem levels (previously 0.53-0.47 seconds). Now has 3 to 4 Added Physical Damage per 15 Armour or Evasion Rating on Shield at gem level 1 (unchanged), up to 5 to 7 at gem level 20 (previously 4 to 6). Now deals 12 to 18 Base Off Hand Physical Damage at gem level 1 (previously 16 to 25), up to 134 to 200 at gem level 20 (previously 350 to 525).

      Shield Charge

      Shield Charge is an attack / movement / travel skill. The player charges at a location with their shield. Enemies that collide with the player while charging are damaged, knocked back, and stunned. Enemies in the way are pushed to the side. Unlike most attack skills, Shield Charge uses your shield's stats to calculate damage.

      Skill functions and interactions

      • Damage and reduced enemy stun threshold are proportional to the distance charged. The maximum charge distance is 60 units 1 Note that the in-game average damage tooltip for Shield Charge does not factor in the bonus gained from charge distance.

      • The damage dealt on strike is based on your shield's stats. Your main hand weapon damage would not play into effect, however, you can use wands, one hand melee weapons, and be unarmed. This also means it will not proc triggers on weapons such as The Poet's Pen, Cospri's Malice, or Mjölner.

      • Area of Effect: Shield Charge deals AoE damage at the end animation of the charge in a circle in front of the player. Modifiers to area radius and damage affect the skill.

      • Use Time: Shield Charge has three distinct sections — the start of the charge, the movement part of the charge, and the attack at the end of the charge. Your base attack speed affects the startup time and ending attack portions of the skill. Modifiers to movement speed and global attack speed affect the middle movement portion of the skill.

      • Shield Charge cannot be supported by Multistrike Support.
