Venom Gyre
**Venom Gyre** is a claw/dagger attack skill that throws a projectile that deals chaos damage with a chance to poison. These projectiles return to you and can be caught, which can all be launched by using Whirling Blades.
Skill functions and interactions
Pierce: Primary projectiles can Pierce, allowing a single target to be struck by both the outgoing and returning projectiles. Does not generate additional Returning Projectiles.
Fork: Forking projectiles do not Return, but the final projectiles return as expected. This can be useful for clearing packs and generates additional Returning Projectiles.
Chain: Works as expected for the primary projectile. Projectile does not Return until it is done Chaining.
Whirling Blades: Launches caught Returning Projectiles in a spiraling fashion when used. The projectiles are released very quickly but sequentially. Appears to home in on enemies slightly, with roughly one of six blades striking the same enemy.
Multiple Projectiles, Volley: Applies to the initial throw, but not caught blades released by Whirling Blades.
Point Blank and Far Shot: Take total travel distance into account. Projectiles released by Whirling Blades are considered new projectiles, while Returning Projectiles are not.
Skill effect duration: Only applies to how long returning projectiles are stored. Less Duration Support increases all damage dealt by the Skill.
Decay Support: Despite the support gem add DOT damage to the skill, the Decay inflicts by returning projectiles deal Less Damage due to the skill gem's Returning Projectiles deal 75% less Damage.
This Skill can generate multiple poison stacks per usage, giving it synergy with Herald of Agony, Vile Toxins Support, Withering Touch Support, and the Assassin's Noxious Strike and Toxic Delivery nodes. However, Cobra Lash is generally preferred for this purpose.
