Gilded Fossil
Gilded Fossil is a fossil type.
Item acquisition
Can only drop behind fractured walls in the Azurite Mine.
Can be acquired in one of two ways:
- Is sometimes sold by Niko the Mad for 100 000 Azurite
- As a drop from following Biomes:
- Fungal Caverns (Only behind a Fractured Wall)
Mechanics
This fossil adds an implicit mod with the description Item sells for much more to vendors, which does not overwrite the item's current implicit. The actual mod is chosen from a selection of random implicit mods that adds various currency items to the vendor price.
Using an Orb of Horizons on a map with Item sells for much more to vendors will randomise the items offered by NPC vendors in exchange for it. The vendor offer is therefore shown in the Sell screen as a collection of hidden items to prevent this from being exploited.[1]
Since Item sells for much more to vendors count as an implicit and the fossil add that implicit on top of the implicit of that basetype, vaaling the item would remove either Item sells for much more to vendors or the basetype implicit. Thus, there is a chance that Item sells for much more to vendors is removed and the vaaled item kept the basetype implicit as well as having the new corrupted implicit from the random vaaling outcome.
