Doryani's Prototype
Mechanics
- Enemy Resistance - All nearby enemies lightning resistances becomes the same as the characters. This source over-rides other resistance modifiers on the enemy making them not calculated for damage taken.
- Character Resistance - The character takes lightning damage equal to 0% lightning resistance. (Character is not calculated as having 0% lightning resistance for purposes outside of damage they receive) This source over-rides other resistance sources on the character making them not calculated for damage taken.
- Armour - Reduces the lightning damage taken from hits, but not lightning damage over time.
- Damage Type - Character can only use lightning damage.
Math
- Defense
- A character with 0% lightning resistance takes 4 times the damage of one with 75% lightning resistance.
- Converting 100% of lightning damage taken as to other damage types with 75% resistance will negate this problem.
- This is most easily achieved with Glorious Vanity with Divine Flesh (or Mahuxotl's Machination) and a Avian Twins Talisman that converts lightning damage. Mahuxotl's Machination with Lethal Pride with Tempered by War can also be used, but Tempered by War will halve your negative lightning resistance.
- Characters who do not convert all of their lightning damage taken as other damage types, can reduce damage taken from hits with armour.
- Offense
- Lowering the characters lightning resistance will increase the damage enemies take. Scaling solo character maximum damage usually involves a compromise between lowering your own lightning resistance and raising your own damage.
- If you use lightning penetration, it does not lower the enemies resistance, it penetrates it. This means it will still increase your lightning damage. Enemies who have negative resistances will make Lightning Penetration Support not add as much damage as most other support gem options. (Note: There might be rare exceptions to the last sentence.)
